I am sorry but i am new to this and my Gimp says the file can't open because it says it's an unknown file type.....Please help me

Because this is for Photoshop, not Gimp. Gimp is different. Some of the people who make the brushes also make a separate download for Gimp. You'll have to search again and find one that's made for Gimp instead
